What Are the Best Alternatives to Online Poker?

October 25, 2020 Category :General 0

There’s no such thing as playing too much poker. Still, even the best players in the world need to take a break from time to time and clear their heads. After all, that’s good for them as they’ll be able to focus more after they take a rest.

So, how do poker players rest from poker and still do something that’s at least loosely related to the popular card game? Well, they engage in other online gambling activities, so let’s check them out.

Online Casino

Online casinos are perhaps even more popular than online poker. There are thousands of players in the US enjoying all kinds of casino games on the web, and some poker players do it too.

But which casino game is the best for you?

If you’re really looking to relax and aim for an opportunity to win some money along the way, you should play slots. There are no strategies or hidden approaches to playing slots.

All you have to do is click the spin button and hope for the best possible outcome. In other words, slots are a pure game of chance, and they are designed to make you feel relaxed and take your mind off your worries.

However, if you find slots boring and still want some challenge, you should try baccarat or blackjack. These two card games still need you to have at least some strategy when playing them.

In fact, many people who enjoy USA legal poker also enjoy other card games that involve betting, and some of them became pretty (in)famous for that, such as the legendary player Phil Ivey.

Sports Betting

Sports betting is fun even if you’re not that into sports. In fact, some of the best sports bettors were not good athletes at all.

However, they were good with numbers and analyzing stats to make accurate predictions. There are some poker players who also like this approach to poker, so sports betting might be interesting to them.

Even though sports betting involves chance, you still need some skill to increase your chances. This type of activity is particularly interesting before big sports events, such as the Super Bowl or the NBA Finals.

Some platforms actually offer both sports betting and online casino games besides online poker, and one of them is BetOnline. Feel free to check out our BetOnline poker review, but you can also switch to other types of gambling once you want to take a rest from playing poker.

Playing Poker on Different Devices: Is It Possible?

September 27, 2020 Category :General Off

Online poker is more popular than ever. However, playing it on your desktop PC might not be as popular as before. Don’t get it wrong – it’s still the most popular way, as professional poker players need a great PC to run all the necessary software.

However, beginners and intermediate players are perfectly happy with other devices. Where else, besides PC, can you play online poker? Let’s check that out.

Mobile Phones

Mobile phones are the second most popular option. Players who don’t mind playing on small screens usually love the fact that they can play poker on the go.

The game is literally at the tip of their fingers, and all they need to do is find a stable Internet connection to enjoy the popular card game.

Tablets

Tablets are also popular, as they offer the convenience of playing on the go and having a screen that’s bigger compared to mobile phones. Nevertheless, they are still not as popular as phones. Moreover, the number of available poker sites is also lower for tablets.

TVs

This may be a little too far-fetched, but you can play USA legal poker on your TV if you manage to connect it to your PC. Essentially, you’ll be playing poker on your PC, but your TV will be the main monitor.

This is perfect for people who like to play poker on big screens to make it feel as real as possible.

Consoles – Limited

Although consoles offer poker games, they are not available for real money. Moreover, they are usually not online games at all, but rather single-player games.

Simply put, consoles don’t allow gambling, and that’s why the offer is pretty limited. After all, not many people would play console poker.

Mac

Although a Mac is basically a desktop OS, it is usually put in a different category than PC when it comes to software, as developers need to adapt their products to Mac users. That’s why the number of online poker platforms for Mac is very limited.

Nevertheless, there are several great ones, so if you own a Mac, make sure to check our list of the best Mac poker sites.

As you can see, you can virtually play online poker everywhere. It’s up to you to choose which device suits you the most and start your poker journey.

If your goal is to play poker casually, you can choose any device you want. However, if you want more than that, then PCs are definitely the best option.

Cryptocurrencies You Can Use to Play Poker on Americas Cardroom

September 18, 2020 Category :Banking Off

Americas Cardroom has always been at the forefront of technological advancement, offering cutting-edge features for its players. One of the things that completely reshaped online payments in the last couple of years is cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin, to be precise.

Ever since Bitcoin was created in 2008, people started realizing how important this type of money is, as it offers a completely unique perspective on finance. With no intermediaries involved, Bitcoin was able to make peer-to-peer payments possible, and many online gambling platforms liked that.

As Bitcoin grew popular, many online casinos, poker rooms, sportsbooks, and other gambling sites started accepting it and even encouraging players to deposit and withdraw with them.

However, the majority of these platforms still only accept Bitcoin.

Yet, things changed in the world of crypto, as there are hundreds of new cryptocurrencies on the block. Sure, Bitcoin is still the most popular one, but there are thousands of poker players owning other cryptocurrencies, not knowing where to play USA legal poker on the web with them.

Lots Of Cryptos

Enter Americas Cardroom. Currently, it accepts 60-plus cryptos. Apart from Bitcoin, some other cryptocurrencies you can use to make a deposit on this site are Litecoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Ripple, Basic Attention Token, Nxt, Blackcoin, Mastercoin, District0x, Starcoin, GameCredits, Lisk, Nubits, Peercoin, and many more.

All cryptocurrencies are fast, meaning you’ll have to wait between five and 40 minutes depending on which crypto you use (each uses a different network, so that’s why the time differs so much).

The minimum amount you can deposit with cryptos at Americas Cardroom is $10, and the maximum is $25,000.
Moreover, the minimum withdrawal limit is set to $50, and the maximum at $10,000.

If you’re new to the world of cryptocurrency, just make sure to get the address of the poker site right, as all transactions that take place on the blockchain (the main technology behind cryptocurrencies) are immutable, meaning they cannot be retrieved. Therefore, always double-check that you entered the correct information in your wallet.

If you like playing poker and are looking for a good online platform to do it, make sure to check our selection of the best USA poker sites. We’ll give you a hint – one of them is Americas Cardroom. After you examine the list, feel free to select one of the sites and open an account.

All of them accept cryptocurrencies – at least BTC. However, they also accept many other payment methods, including cash transfers, credit and debit cards, and more.

How Traffic Affects Your Overall Online Poker Experience

August 27, 2020 Category :General Off

You don’t often want to hear the word “traffic” when you’re driving. It means you could end up sitting in your car much longer than you expected, getting nervous about not being able to make it on time. However, in the world of online poker, the word traffic is usually welcomed among poker players. It means they will have more fun. What is traffic exactly and how does it work?

Essentially, traffic is people. Traffic of a website simply denotes the number of people that visit that site. For example, if a site has high traffic, it means that there are a lot of people visiting it at that moment. On the other hand, if the traffic is low, then there are just a couple of visitors. Of course, sites can have no traffic at all, and that’s never a good thing.

When it comes to USA legal poker sites, traffic denotes the number of active players on the site. Simply put, when a site has high traffic, it means that more people are playing the game. So, how is this good for you exactly?

Simply put, when there are many people playing, you’ll have an opportunity to find more active cash games and tournaments. On the other hand, if you’re looking to play a specific tournament and there’s low traffic, you’ll have to wait for enough people to join to start your online poker session.

Therefore, the more the merrier rule is applied in this case, and you want to join a site that has high traffic. However, you should take one more thing into account – traffic changes depending on the time of the day you join.

For example, if you join a US-facing site and you’re from the US, you can expect more players in certain “peak” hours. They may differ depending on the platform you choose, but you can use common sense to determine when the peak hours are — they are usually in the afternoon/evening hours when people finish their jobs for the day. On the other hand, if you join a site at 4:30 am, there wouldn’t be as much traffic.

Traffic is important, but it’s definitely not the only thing that you need to pay attention to if you want to have the best poker experience. Therefore, make sure to check out our poker site reviews, where we cover all the other aspects of popular USA poker platforms.

What Is HUD and How Does It Affect Your Online Poker Experience?

July 31, 2020 Category :Online Poker Off

Whenever we review a poker site, we pay attention to its HUD. If you’ve ever read an online poker site review, you probably stumbled upon expressions such as “HUD” blocking. The truth is – you’ve come across HUD in poker before.

HUD stands for a head-up display. It’s basically anything that you see while playing online poker that’s not the game itself. This is usually all the additional information about you, other players, and the game you’re playing. This type of info is usually shown in different floating windows that are part of your poker game.

Some poker sites have a “richer” HUD, meaning there are more windows that show you more info about the game. However, having your game cluttered with all sorts of information can be tiresome, and that’s why some poker sites allow you to turn off parts of HUD (or the entire HUD) if you want. When that option is not available, that may get in the way of your game, which is sometimes not a pleasant sight.

On the other hand, some sites don’t show too much info, meaning their HUD is quite “poor.” Professional poker players who want to know every detail about the game are usually interested in having a rich hud with a lot of information.

When we review USA legal poker sites, we usually take this into account. Therefore, we rank the site’s HUD blocking, but also its ability to provide adequate information.

When Can HUD Really Help You?

HUD can help you with some straightforward tasks. For example, a HUD displaying previous actions of your opponents can help you adjust your strategy and, thus, improve your chances of winning.

Imagine noticing that someone folds really often and is very tight overall. After that, you can start playing more aggressively when facing the tight player and make the most of it. You can make this conclusion just by looking at the window displaying this type of information. That’s why some of the best online poker players actively follow all sorts of windows that give them information about the game.

One of the platforms that has the best HUD in the industry is definitely Americas Cardroom, which we consider the best USA legal poker site. Feel free to examine this platform and play around with the HUD it offers to find out more about it and learn to extract valuable information from it.
