The 50th WSOP Will Have a Massive Main Event Prize Pool

May 25, 2019 Category :Tournaments Off

If you consider yourself a poker player or at least just a poker fan, you are probably excited as much as we are about the upcoming World Series of Poker tournament that will take place in Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. Since it is the 50th anniversary of this tournament, there will be a lot of interesting things happening for more than a month.

Therefore, if you are from the US, and you enjoy playing USA legal poker, you are going to have a ball by either watching or taking part in the WSOP events.

There will be many interesting events, but we want to focus on just one, which is considered the central event in all poker tournaments. The WSOP Main Even is also called the WSOP $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Championship, as the player who takes the final prize is definitely considered the champion of the tournament. The Main Event will begin on July 3 and the finale is planned for July 16. In other words, the event will last for almost two weeks as many players are expected to put their skills and luck to a test by taking part in it.

The Main event will be covered by ESPN and there will probably be a couple of online streaming platforms that will follow what is happening in various events in the tournament. The guaranteed prize pool for the Main Event is $5 million, but that may increase in regard to the number of players who apply for the event. Just for the sake of comparison, last year’s Main Event saw a total of 7,874 players who managed to create a prize pool which was $8.8 million.

Although the World Series of Poker takes place in the US, there will be participants from all over the world flying to Las Vegas to play poker with some of the best professionals in the industry. In fact, participants from more than 100 countries are expected, so Las Vegas is going to be very multi-cultural for the next month and a half.

If you don’t have the time and money to fly to Las Vegas and take part in these events, make sure to check out poker site reviews and select some of the best poker sites in the US that will give you an opportunity to play poker online with players from your country.

Americas Card Room makes participating in the 50th WSOP Main Event easier than ever

May 9, 2019 Category :Tournaments Off

The WSOP is about to get underway, returning for its 50th appearance. Americas Cardroom (ACR) has something special on tap for poker fans this year and is prepared to send several players to Las Vegas to compete against poker greats from around the world for the million-dollar top prize. If you have ever wanted to grab a seat at this prestigious event, now is your chance and only ACR makes it this easy.

From June 3rd to 9th, the US-facing site will be hosting its WSOP Takedown Week. It’s a series of satellite tournaments with buy-ins as low as $2.20 that lead up to the WSOP Main Event Satellite on Sunday, June 9th at 4pm ET. 15 lucky players will all be awarded prize packages worth $12,500, covering the $10,000 Main Event buy-in with an additional $2,500 in cash to make the trip.

The 15 players can either decide to keep the $12,500 in cash or make the trip to Vegas for a seat in the big game. Making the trip to Vegas is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and, if this year is anything like last year, the top prize will be worth millions.

You could be just like the legendary Chris Moneymaker. Back in 2003, he turned the online poker world on its head by winning a seat to the WSOP Main Event through a $39 online satellite. He then pocketed a spectacular $2.5 Million. John Cynn, an Illinois native, was the winner last year and won a life-changing $8.8 Million (the total prize pool was over $9.5 Million). This year should be another gigantic prize pool.

If you don’t want to wait until WSOP Takedown Week to start winning your WSOP Main Event trip, then you’re in luck. Americas Cardroom is running Step Tournaments right now and here’s how they work. Start at Step 0 which has just a $0.28 buy-in. Then move up the ladder through Step 7 which is a $1,800+120 ticket in the WSOP Main Event Satellite on June 9th.

Poker fans need to get ready for something even bigger at ACR this year. On July 16th, the site is hosting the $5 Million Venom, the biggest poker event ever organized by any US-facing poker site. Don’t miss out on the chance to take home the $1 million GTD top prize. Mark your calendars now and be a part of history!
